Dagueneau! Peerless Sauvignon Blanc From Pouilly-Fumé
Thursday March 28, 2019, 6:00 PM

Didier Dagueneau was a pioneer in the world of cult winemakers. In 1982, after competitively racing motorcycles, and with no formal oenological training, Didier reverted to his family roots and became a 4th generation winemaker in Pouilly-Fumé, France. Working exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc, Dider produced high quality wines of great intensity and care. Using a horse and plow, aging in oak barrels and always evolving his winemaking technique, he became known as a rogue or a genius depending on whom you ask. After his sudden passing in 2008, Didier's son Louis-Benjamin has taken the reins and continues his father's work; making unrivaled, contemplative and age-worthy Sauvignon Blanc. Join us for a rare uncorking of these treasures! $20

Forlorn Hope with Winemaker Matthew Rorick
Thursday April 11, 2019, 6:00 PM

Alvarelhao, Trousseau, skin-fermented Picpoul, Verdelho, Mondeuse-- these are the type of offbeat, obscure varieties that California winemaker Matthew Rorick falls in love with and, against any reasonable financial sense, champions. Rorick's Forlorn Hope wines are, as he says, "Rare creatures from appellations unknown and varieties uncommon." Rorick works as naturally as possible, adding no water, acid, cultured yeast, nutrients, enzymes or malolactic cultures. Made in tiny quantities and coveted by those who appreciate his soulful, purist approach, these wines are graceful reflections of unique vineyards and of Rorick's thoughtful, rigorous winemaking We'll taste six wines. $20
